Bart and Melissa

Bart and Melissa are a sweet, wonderful couple.  They were married in Hopkinsville, KY, in a beautiful Catholic church.  Here are some shots that tell the small, side stories of the day. The full story is told by Evan Baines @http://www.evanbaines.com/wedding/melissa-barts-wedding/

Heather and Motherhood

This past Tuesday, I had the honor of photographing my friends Heather and her husband (cool guy) Steve in their home. If you can’t tell, Heather is a little bit pregnant. This is their first, so I consider it a double honor to shoot it. I’m happy with the end result largely because I encouraged them to be themselves and they delivered. That’s my definition of a successful shoot, anyway.  They photos reflect the love these two have for one another and their anticipation of little Savannah, who I’ve been told will date one of my boys.

Jalen

Jalen is the son of a great photographer and friend, Kesava (K) Anderson, who happens to shoot professionally as well (see http://www.yourfrozenmoments.com).  His son, Jalen, wants to enter acting/modeling and so we teamed up several Saturdays ago to shoot a portfolio for him. He’s a natural. Really enjoyed it and wanted to share my favorites.

Bear Cave

more to post but for now, wanted to share a shot from our visit to the Knoxville Zoo-interestingly, a bear was sleeping on the other side of the glass (see the black blob at my son’s feet)-i love the way the light falls off around my son’s tip-toed form

Whitney & Richard Married,

This is an oldie but a goodie. Shot this with a good friend, Kesava Anderson earlier this wedding season. The couple was pretty laid back and just wanted to have fun, as did their wedding party. These follow my usual bend towards documentary photography. Enjoy.

Helen and Floyd

Helen and Floyd have been married 68 years-They live just East of Nashville and are as dear and sweet as they look in these photos, I can assure you-I saw them sitting together one evening in January and have wanted to photograph them ever since-This is certainly the type of couple and the type of photography that I prefer, very simple, very stripped down-I’m grateful to them for allowing me to shoot these and share them

Sam & Caroline

I haven’t posted any wedding work in a while and wanted to catch up on the last few I’ve done.  Sam and Caroline hired me to shoot their reception and a few formals.  We only had 20 minutes to capture shots of just the two of them at the end of the day, so I took them to the edge of a clearing and asked them to wade into the tall grass in the forest.  They were sports.   Such a sweet and genuine couple.  Here are two shots I liked of them.  Just them being them with very little direction from me.
